Holly Springs Town Center Infrastructure Work Underway

Helmed by Experienced Civil Sitework Team at Vertical Earth

October 2021, Holly Springs GA
– Initial sitework is underway at Holly Springs Town Center, the City’s landmark new development near the intersection of Hickory Road and Holly Springs Parkway. The long-anticipated Town Center will energize Downtown Holly Springs with a walkable, Main Street inspired destination that weaves together civic and community spaces with an array of retail, restaurant, and residential offerings. In July, the Holly Springs City Council and the Downtown Development Authority awarded the Mixed-Use Sitework and Infrastructure Project for Town Center to Cumming-based Vertical Earth and Alpharetta-based Alliance Engineering + Planning. “After many years of work, it is very exciting to see movement on the Town Center site,” says Mayor Steven W. Miller. “We are confident that we have a great team working on the site and excited to see the Town Center vision begin to come to life in a true city center and community space for residents and visitors to enjoy.”

Driving the sitework is an experienced Vertical Earth team with more than two decades of project history for both public and private developments. “We’ve already begun work in earnest at Holly Springs Town Center, and in the coming weeks, clearing and earthwork will move forward on the entire site,” says Vertical Earth CEO and Owner Brett Johnson. “Our team is truly excited to be a part of this project. This is a centerpiece, generational project that will provide homes for families to live, shops and restaurants to thrive and memories for the Holly Springs community. Many of our team members are local to Holly Springs, so they are looking forward to visiting and enjoying Town Center once the construction work is complete.” The sitework and infrastructure project will include clearing, grading, excavation, earthwork, retaining walls, installation of various utilities and streets and is scheduled to take 15 months to complete. The project costs are slated to total approximately $6.7 million.

At the heart of the Holly Springs Town Center will be a new City Hall, envisioned as a 16,000 square foot, three-story brick and stone design with an iconic clock tower and charming early 20th-century architecture honoring the rich history of the community itself. Rolled out in front of it is the inviting Market Plaza and Grand Lawn perfect for festivals, markets and community events like the city’s annual Easter Egg Hunt, Autumn Fest, Christmas Parade, and more. At the other end of the Grand Lawn will sit a new outdoor amphitheater. On either side of the amphitheater, visitors will find more than 30,000 square feet of restaurant and retail space. Public spaces will be served with ample parking including a dedicated parking deck. In addition, a variety of new residential options will be offered at Holly Springs Town Center including new city homes and town homes for sale as well as luxury lofts available for lease.
